Sound Mirror

The investigation of sound in Lyngør, Norway begins with the study of a door within the Doktorhuset. The door is a threshold between spaces that is analyzed through sound over time. The sound/time exploration is then applied to the island scale, mapping the thresholds of sound that define Lyngør as a place. Finally, an instrument is constructed to measure and amplify future sound on the island. This project records a personal, temporal diary of the island's public sphere; an idiosyncratic experience of an ever-changing force.
